US Supreme Court Rules Against Tik Tok
by Alex Lloyd Gross
The United States Supreme Court screwed 170 million American Citizens today by ruling against Tik-Tok, a hugely popular social media app. The case was litigated by outgoing Attorney General Merrick Garlan’ds Office Garland was supposed to be a Supreme Court Justice but the Senate refused to confirm him in the waning days of the Obama Administration.

US Senator Tom Cotton single highhandedly blocked a Senate extension of the ban for 270 days by calling it a “Spy App”. This in spite of efforts from many senators that wanted to reverse the ban. This band was not put in on it’s own. It was tied up in a bill for aid for Israel. It is doubtful this would have passed on it’s own. politicians would have to feel the wrath of 170million and it is doubtful they would get re elected.

“Petitioners parade a series of alternatives—disclosure re-quirements, data sharing restrictions, the proposed national security agreement, the general designation provision—that they assert would address the Government’s data collection interest in equal measure to a conditional TikTok ban. Those alternatives do not alter our tailoring analysis”, the Supreme Court wrote.
They claim it is bad for America because Bytedance, the parent company is owned by China. They could take that information they collect on Tik-Tok users to spy on them. There has been no evidence that this could has or would happen.
Cigarettes can kill you. Smoking has killed millions of Americans. Still American tobacco companies are permitted to sell their poison to consenting adults in America, and millions of Americans buy their products in spite of warnings. In fact, people die from secondhand smoke as well. No one has died from viewing Tik-Tok videos.

“The causal steps between the regulations and the alleged burden on protected speech—may impact whether First Amendment scrutiny applies.
This Court has not articulated a clear framework for determining whether a regulation of non-expressive activity that disproportionately burdens those engaged in expressive activity triggers heightened review. We need not do so here. We assume without deciding that the challenged provisions fall within this category and are subject to First”, Amendment scrutiny” the court ruled.
Incoming President Donald Trump has vowed to step in and save Tik Tok. Rumors are Elon Musk will buy it. Trump has posted on his Truth Social that he spoke with the Chinese President .

In a stunning middle finger to congress and the senate millions of Americans are migrating to Lemon8 and Red Note. Red Note is an app actually owned by the Chinese Communist Party. It is mostly in Chinese and to use it, you must vow to uphold the principles of China. Free speech is not allowed on Red Note. No criticizing of the government , no sexy clothes, no profanity etc. Lemon8 is owned by Tiktok but videos are under one minute long.
Tik Tok is filled with Goodbye videos, videos expressing anger at Tom Cotton and hopes that Trump will save the app, which he previously said he wants to do. He can issue an executive order to keep Tik Tok, while a sale is finished. The ban takes effect January 18, 2025. Donald Trump takes office January 20, 2025.
