Amere Wright,18, was in center city Philadelphia Sunday night, celebrating the Eagles going to the Super Bowl. So was another male who was shot in the abdomen area by an unknown gunman in the area of 1300 Chestnut Street, about 9:25 PM.

While the victim was rushed to a local hospital and listed in stable condition, detectives were looking at video surveillance from the night in an effort to located the shooter.

Police said they identified Wight, of the 6100 block of North Broad Street as the person responsible. They raided his house, arrested him and during the raid, they found clothes that he wore that night, as well as a handgun with five live rounds in it. Wright’s cell phone was also seized. Police can track his location through that, and find out where he was.
He is charged with assault, as well as gun charges.
