Arrest Made For Double Shooting At Super Bowl Parade On The Ben Franklin Parkway

Philadelphia Police announced the arrest of Brandon Ramos of Philadelphia. His is charged with assault and weapons offenses. This stems from the double shooting that happened yesterday near the Eagles Superbowl Parade, police said.

The shooting happened at 2:35 PM, as the players and coaches were giving their remarks. The location of the shooting was near 23 rd Street and Ben Franklin Parkway. Two women were near the parade when Ramos got into an argument with them. Rather than walk away, or get police, Ramos shot them, police said.

At least one woman was taken to the medical station inside the parade compound, which was at 24th Street and Ben Franklin Parkway.. Both women were taken to Presbyterian Hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.

Police went to the area of where the shooting happened but did not locate a crime scene. They did recover a gun, and through investigation traced it back to Ramos. Police said the motive for the shooting as an argument but they did not say what it was about. No mug shot was available for Ramos at press time.
