Bucks County Piano Teacher Arrested For Inappropriate Lessons

Bucks County authorities have arrested on February 14, 2025 Timothy James Shay, of Plumstead Township, He is a piano tutor and was giving lessons to children. His conduct went far and away from teaching the piano, authorities said. He is said to have targeted children when giving lessons in their homes.
The assaults happened back in the late 1990’s and early 2000,s. Victims have just now started to come forwards, police said. Shay would meet people in their homes and start to message the wrists of children to loosen them up and relax them.
These massages lasted for longer than a few seconds, and progressed up to the arms and to the torso of some of his victims. Shat would , at times, move the child to the couch and massage them there, either sticking his hand down their pants or coming close to doing this, under the guise of the massaging would help with piano playing.
There were four victims that came forward. All had the similar claims and all lived around the Middletown or Newtown area. Some of the victims were as young as eight years old, Bucks County Authorities said. The massages continued and progressed for his victims, sometimes lasting years, depending on how long the child was taking lessons, authorities said.
Shay was charged with four counts Indecent Assault of a person under 13 years of age. He was remanded to the Bucks County Prison under $1,000,000.00 bail. Should anyone have had Shay as a tutor and been touched inappropriately , your local police can take a report and do an investigation.
