Fire Destroys Bensalem House On Yates Road

A single family dwelling was destroyed by a fast moving fire late last night on the 4700 block of Yates Road. No injuries were reported.
It was just after 10:30 PM when fire crews were called to the fire.Upon arrival, heavy fire was visible from the rear and side of the house. Fire companies used ladder trucks to open the roof, so the fire and smoke could vent. Multiple fire hydrants were used to get water to the fire.
The owner of the house was not at home. The cause is being investigated by fire department authorities. Crews wrapped up their operations early in the morning. by 9:30 AM they were called back as the fire rekindles itself and crews were quick to extinguish that using hand lines.
There was a sign on the fence indicating a dog on on the premises. There is no confirmation as to any pets being inside at the time of the fire.
