Philly CarJacker Assaults Victims, Police and Firefighters
by Alex Lloyd Gross
When a motorist saw a car smashed into a tree and on fire, at Sweetbriar and Lansdowne Aves, he stopped to help. A male was standing near the car and he was under the influence of an unknown substance, police said. The good samaratan did not know that and when he approached, the male who was near the car tried to assault him. The good samaratan backed away and got into his car and drove a short distance.

From there he saw another good samaratan stop and the same thing happened. This time the first male drove up and tried to stop the assault with pepper spray. That was useless and the second male was jackjacked.

A few minutes later, police said, the carjacker returned with the stolen car , a BMW and tried to run over both males. He wound up crashing the car into a ravine and then returned to the burning vehicle on foot. There, he saw firefighters putting out the fire, so he starting to assault them by swinging fallen tree branches at them.
Police arrived and tazed him. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Charges will be filed shortly, police said.
