Harlem Globetrotters Almost Lost A Game In Trenton

The Harlem Globetrotters are in the area for a couple of games against the Washington Generals. They are going to win them all. Just like Friday night at the NJ Cure Arena. This is good clean wholesome fun for children of all ages.

During the Trenton game, players would run into the stands, to interact with fans while the game was being played. During the second half, a nine year old boy was brought onto the court to shoot free throws for the Globetrotters. It took a few tries but eventually he sunk a basket. As a prize he got to keep the ball.

This is not a clown show. There is serious skill involved in what both teams do. From the serious ball playing done by the Washington Generals, to tricks and evasive maneuvers done by the Globetrotters it is doubtful that anyone in the crowd could do this.

Prior to the game, there was a VIP opportunity for a Magic Pass, where both teams entertained those on the court that paid the extra cash. They shot baskets, taught ball spinning and engaged in antics that would progress later.

When attending the game, the scorekeeper likes to play fast and loose with time clock and score. During some of the antics, the clock would wind down and then stop. During the last few seconds, it was a tie game at 115. While it was a nail biter to see if the game would go to overtime, the Globetrotters would ultimately pull ahead with a few seconds to go, When it was over the score was 125 to 123.
