Philly Police Release Mugshot Of Male In West Philly Murder

Philadelphia Police have arrested Ricardo Ponds earlier this week in connection with the murder of Deborah Leatherberry from the 6100 block of Wheeler Street. She was 54 years old. Police said that she was found stuffed into a trash can and left on the highway.
The can and Leatherberry was discovered on the morning of January 30, 2025, on the 700 block of North 47th Street.
An investigation was done and a suspect was identified. Earlier this week, Ricardo Ponds was arrested by SEPTA Police at 15th and Market Streets. He will be charged with murder and related offenses. No motive was given by police.
