Illegally Parked Car Leads To Quick Retail Theft Arrest At Wegmans

On March 1, 2025 Warrington Police were on routine patrol at the Wegmans Parking Lot on Main Street, when an officer saw a vehicle parked in a fire lane. As he was investigating that car, a call came over the radio for shoplifting in progress.
When he went to investigate, he found Casey Lou Schumann.38. from Warrington was detained for a small theft, in the amount of $21.25 . Apparently, police said she paid for a drink but is accused of leaving the store with the unpaid merchandise.
Upon a search of her and her car, police found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Police said it was her car that was parked in the fire lane. She said that she parked there because her key does not come out of the ignition. Police did not say what happened to her car.
She was arrested and arraigned on $25,000 unsecured bail by District Justice Terry Hughes. She is charged with shoplifting and narcotics charges, police said.
