Huge Car Meet Broken Up By PA State Police
by Alex Lloyd Gross
About 5:30 PM today, a very large group of car enthusiasts decided to hold an unsanctioned car meet at the Park and Ride lot off of I-95 near Woodhaven Road. Police said there were several hundred cars there. The cars were just parked and people were milling around , No one was doing any reckless driving.
State Police got a call about this from a motorist and at least five Troopers responded. They drove around the lot with lights and sirens and the lot was cleared in about 25 minutes. Some vehicle remained, they were either abandoned by owners or their owners had taken a train trip.

People that do not move run the risk of getting their cars towed. As the weather gets warmer, people with nice cars will want to show them off and meet up. The problem starts when one or two idiots start doing donuts, or driving reckless. The only solution is to close down the entire event.

Many of the cars were driven to the Franklin Mall, while Philadelphia Police had their hands full clearing the vehicles as well.
