While the price of groceries, services and goods are skyrocketing, this service is — honest-to-goodness — free. The local nonprofit Campaign for Working Families, which covers Southeastern Pa. including Chester, Bucks, Delaware and Phila. counties, helps working individuals and families through its FREE tax-preparation services. It’s a pivotal resource in the community, particularly for low-to-moderate income families, to gain financial empowerment, access to tax credit, error reduction and fraud prevention and economic stimulus.
Campaign for Working Families’ programs, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (E.I.T.C.), are aimed at reducing poverty, particularly in cities like Philadelphia, considered to be the most impoverished big city in America. The E.I.T.C. is designed for individuals and families and is one of the nation’s most effective anti-poverty programs.
