Former Employee Arrested For Stealing Checks From Huntingdon Valley Business

Police in Lower Moreland Twp. said that they arrested Andrew Capponi was involved in breaking into the business office of his former employer on the 300 block of Red Lion Road back on October 16, 2024. Police said that they observed security footage that showed a suspect breaking in and leaving with stolen checks.

A few days after the theft,police said, an male by the name of Jason Kuepper cashed one of the stolen checks. A day later, Capponi appeared at the United Check Cashing business and attempted to cash another stolen check. That attempt failed and police said he got no money. Capponi worked at the business but resigned in 2022, police said.

Apparently, Capponi was not able to comprehend that the checks were reported stolen. On November 27, 2024, more than a month after the burglary, he walked into the Cottman Check Cashing business. They were aware of the theft and did not cash the check. Instead, they kept it and Capponi left with nothing.

Police put together a case and secured arrest warrants. Capponi was arrested this week and charged with
