Police: Thieving Contractors Behind Trailer Theft In Northeast Philadelphia
by Alex Lloyd Gross
On March 20, 2025 a neighbor had hired a contracting company to do concrete work on the 8100 block of Craig Street. . Video shows that two of the workers he hired worked with others to steal a legally parked construction trailer. While the thieves thought they were slick, they in fact were not. Police are looking into even more security cameras that were in the area, as well as license plate readers to track this vehicle.

The owner of the trailer, Gina and David Sanchez said that Mr. Sanchez was working in Allentown when the theft happened. Gina left her house for a few minutes to run an errand. “When I came back the trailer was gone,” she said. Inside the trailer was about $6000.00 worth of building supplies, police said.

The crime was caught on the video, which police have. Legal experts say that the contracting owner is responsible for the behavior if this employees. If the owner of the business knows nothing about it and police can prove his employees facilitated the theft in any way, he could be brought into court as well.
Investigation has shown that this trailer may be hidden in the Port Richmond/Kensington area. According to Gina Sanchez, “We want the trailer returned, no questions asked”.

Delaware Valley News.com is not naming the contractor at this point in time as there has been no arrest made of his employees, yet. The video shows the employees working, then when a blue van pulls up, these two help hook it up, guide the vehicle out of the parking spot and then speak with the thieves in the van. They then go back to work, as the thieves pull away with the trailer.

Calls to the contracting company went unanswered when we called to ask about their involvement or knowledge of the theft.
