Road Closures Set For Love Run Tomorrow In Center City
ROUTE FOR THE LOVE RUN HALF MARATHON
The race will begin in the 2200 block of Ben Franklin Parkway and travel east on the Parkway to 16th St. using the south side of Logan Circle. South on 16th Street, west on to JFK Blvd to 20th Street, left on 20th to Market Street East on Market Street to 15th Street, south on 15th Street to South Penn east on South Penn, north on Juniper and east on Market to 6th Street.
North on 6th to Arch Street, West on Arch to Ben Franklin Parkway, bear right and follow to Eakins Oval. Bear right and follow Kelly Drive to Brewery Hill Drive Right turn onto Brewery Hill Drive to Girard Avenue, West on Girard Ave.(across bridge) to Lansdowne Drive, Right turn to Sweet Briar, make left on MLK to turn around in the area of Falls Bridge. Continue back on MLK to Black Rd make right turn on Black Road, Follow Black Road and make right turn at circle onto Avenue of the Republic to East Memorial Hall Drive make left turn to South Concourse Drive make a left and follow South Concourse (which becomes Lansdowne Dr.) to Girard Ave.
East on Girard Ave to Brewery Hill Dr., take Brewery Hill Drive and make left onto Kelly Drive. Inbound on Kelly Drive to finish line at the Art Museum.
ROUTE FOR THE 7K RUN
The 7K race will begin in the 2200 block of Ben Franklin Parkway and travel east on the Parkway to 16th Street, south on 16th Street to John F Kennedy Boulevard, west on John F Kennedy Boulevard. to 20th Street, south on 20th Street to Market Street, east on Market to 15th Street, south on 15th Street to South Penn Square, east on South Penn Square to Juniper, north on Juniper to Market Street, east on Market to 6th Street, north on 6th Street. to Arch Street, west on Arch Street to Ben Franklin Parkway, Ben Franklin Parkway to Binswanger Triangle and make a hard left between the Triangle and Eakins Oval to the finish line on the south side of the Oval.
The race is scheduled to start at 7:30 AM. All detours, east of 18th Street should be open no later than 10:30 AM. The area immediately surrounding Eakins Oval should be opened by approximately 1:00 PM. There will be police assigned to the detours around the race route to assist motorist: however, motorists should expect delays in the area of the race.
Jefferson University Hospital traffic traveling from the N/S of Market St should use 10th Street to travel southbound to the hospital prior to runners being on the course. After runners are on the course, hospital goers should travel east of 5th Street to gain access.
