
One Dead, Three Injured In Somerton Crash

A single vehicle crash last night caused the death of one man after the vehicle in which he was riding in veered out of control on Red Lion Road, near Gantry. Police said the accident happened about 10:30 p.m. According to initial reports, a maroon 2005 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound when the operator lost control while merging lanes. The vehicle then veered into oncoming traffic.
The Camry struck a street sign before colliding with several parked, unoccupied paratransit-type vehicles. The impact of the crash resulted in four occupants of the Camry becoming trapped.


Emergency responders worked to free the individuals from the vehicle. The driver and one other occupant were transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.
A third passenger, 19/M was also taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with critical injuries and severe blood loss. He was pronounced at 3:00 AM. The fourth occupant was transported to Abington Hospital and is listed in critical condition.


Police did not say if the vehicle was speeding or what caused the driver to lose control.
