
Brazilian National Faces Federal Charges For Assaulting Federal Agent

Enmanuel Fernandes-Calixto, aka “Emanuel Fernandes” and “Emanuel Bartholomew,” 20, a citizen of Brazil who has no business being in the United States was arrested for strangulation and assault charges by Philadelphia authorities in March 2025. The assault happened in August of 2024, authorities said.


When he was arrested, ICE put a detailer on him which should have held him in custody. It did not and he was released back onto the streets of Philadelphia. During the first week of April, 2025, he was arrested by ICE and was being transported to federal custody.. It was then, that he attempted to escape custody by hitting the agent and when the officer over. He ran off and was on the lose for a few hours.


He barricaded himself inside a house in the northeast and was arrested without incident. He was arrested and will be ultimately deported .

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
