
Multiple Carnival Attendees Hit By Car In South Philadelphia

A vehicle struck four pedestrians near the front entrance to a carnival in South Philadelphia Saturday night, sending at least four people to the hospital with injuries.

The incident occurred around 8:55 p.m. at the intersection of 7th Street and Packer Avenue, police said.

According to Philadelphia Police, a 68-year-old man driving a 2004 silver Toyota suffered a medical emergency while traveling through the area. The vehicle then collided with four pedestrians who were leaving the nearby carnival.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene. The driver was transported as well, to Presbyterian Hospital for treatment of his medical condition.
The four pedestrians were taken to Jefferson Hospital. Authorities report that three adult victims sustained broken bones. A three-year-old child who was among those struck suffered bruising to the head but was alert and talking at the hospital.

All individuals involved are currently listed in stable condition.
The Philadelphia Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
