Two Illegal Immigrants Arrested For Stealing Purse Of Homeland Security Secretary

Two males that never have been granted legal status to be in the United States were arrested in connection with stealing the purse of Kristi Noem over the Easter weekend. The two males, police said.were habitual offenders and had been stealing purses and other belongings for quite some time from unsuspecting people.

Noem was eating and enjoying the company of her family, in a Washington DC restaurant when one of the males sat near her. With his foot, he wrapped the strap abound his foot and leg and managed to pull the purse closer to him. He then bent down and picked it up, covering it with a jacket.

This move he perfected from multiple thefts. He had no idea of who she was , just another lady out for a meal. The movement made to steal the purse was so slick that it was not picked up by the US Secret Service who is in charge of guarding her.

One suspect was arrested and identified as 49-year-old Mario Bustamante Leiva, Noem called him a career criminal. Her Homeland Security Identification, credit cards $3000,00 in cash and a checkbook. Leiva has multiple prior arrests , police said.

Leiva is charged with robbery and both males are being held on ICE detainers. They will be deported out of the United States, officials said. police did not release the name of the accomplice.
