
Baby Abducted In Armed Carjacking In NE Philly

It was just after 10:30 AM earlier today, when an Asian woman was driving a White Toyota Highlander east on Unruh Ave. when another vehicle rear ended that car in the rear near Bustleton Ave. When the woman got out of the Highlander to check the damage and speak with the other driver, a black male, dressed all in black approached her and Pointed a weapon at the woman and ordered her away from the car,

Police said the male drove away. According to Penn White, who works nearby, “Police were there quickly. The stolen car drove away and made a right on Bustleton Avenue and then a left onto Magee Ave.” A two year old baby was in the car.


The thief did not see the baby sleeping in the backseat. When he noticed it, he abandoned the car near Magee and Castor Aves, police said. The baby was checked out and reunited with her mother less than an 40 minutes .

Police have excellent security video of the carjacker, Detectives have canvassed the area for even more video. When caught, it is almost certain the thief will face serious federal jail time . Armed jack jacking can carry life in prison. Add a kidnapping charge to the mix and the thief is not going to see daylight again . This is in addition to state time. The only description given so far is a black male dressed all in black wearing white sneakers.
