Serious Crash Closes Route 13 In Bensalem

A box truck rear ended a passenger car on Route 13, at Station Avenue about 10:00 AM today. It appears that after the initial impact, the driver of the car lost control and slammed into a garage that was set back off of Bristol Pike. That impact trapped the driver and passenger for a short time.
The injuries were said to be serious but not life threatening. Before the vehicle could e removed, the garage needed to be shored up and firefighters were seen doing that, to insure it would not collapse. Only then could the vehicle be removed. There were no people in the garage at the time of the crash, authorities said.
The box truck was traveling south on Bristol Pike, when he slammed into the back of the car. The box truck sustained disabling damage from the crash. Bristol Pike was closed around Station Ave. for over an hour.
