Police Announce arrest In Murder Of Southwest Philly Teenager

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 11:21 a.m., officers from the Philadelphia Police 12th District responded to a person with a gun on the 2200 block of South Felton Street.
Upon arrival, police discovered an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds to the head, hip, and back. He was quickly transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:52 AM.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Zaafir Jerry. Twelve 9mm spent casings and a weapon were recovered from the scene. The investigation was conducted by the Homicide Detectives Division.
On June 17, 2025: Raynald Francois 30-years-old, from the 4300, block of Chester Avenue,walked into police headquarters and surrendered He was charged with Murder and weapons offenses.
