Foghat Returns To This Area For Memorable Concert

Friday night, several hundred people made their way to the Keswick Theater in Glenside Pa. Foghat was going to be playing a show. The opener was DJ Keith Roth, who has his own band .

If you thought this was a nostalgia act you are wrong. Foghat is just as relevant as they were in the mid 1970’s. Yes, back then they headlined arenas but now they have matured, and are releasing new music. The latest is called Sonic Mojo which came out in 2023. There were copies available at the merch table during the show.

For the show, they of course had to play the hits that made them famous, like Slow Ride, Stone Blue and Fool For The City, but they also brought out some newer music like Drivin On. The Sonic Mojo record went to number one on the Billboard Blues Charts.

The crowd made up mostly of older people remained seated through the majority of the show. This is a rock show, not a rest home. That’s why towards the end of the set, most people chose to stand when they heard Wild Cherry’s Play That funky Music. Guitarist Brian Bassett used to play in that band.

Foghat has only one original member now, drummer Roger Earl. This show brought out some lesser known blues rock numbers, such as Third Time Lucky and Hurts Me Too.

As previously mentioned, Sirius XM DJ Keith Roth has a solo project out and he did a half hour set that was very well received.
