Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspect In Pine Street Robbery Of Elderly Woman

Philadelphia, PA Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a violent daytime robbery of an elderly woman in Center City.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at approximately 11:25 a.m. on the 1900 block of Pine Street. According to investigators, an 81-year-old woman was walking in the area when she was approached from behind by an unknown Black female. The suspect allegedly attacked the victim from behind and snatched her bag, causing the woman to fall and sustain a minor injury to her forehead.

After fleeing the scene, the suspect reportedly removed $100 from the victim’s bag before discarding it and leaving the area. The elderly victim suffered a contusion but did not require hospitalization.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect and are urging anyone who recognizes her or has information related to the case to come forward.

Authorities caution the public not to approach the suspect if seen, but instead to immediately contact 911.
