Home Owner Shoots Burglar In Port Richmond, Kensington Area

A homeowner heard someone attempting to break into their home on the 1800 block of E. Thayer Street. by using a ladder to get in the second-floor window. The homeowner grabbed a gun and fired several shots, hitting the alleged burglar, who then fled but forcefully gained entry to another house, police said.

The offender was rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds to him legs. The offender was listed in stable condition and will be charged accordingly, police said. The homeowner is not expected to be charged, police said.

This incident happened at about 3:32 AM. this morning.
