by Alex Lloyd Gross
Phillis Fugah, 24, of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, entered a plea of guilty in federal court to charges relating to an armed carjacking last August 29 on West Chester Pike.
It was there that a father sat in a parked car with his two young children, waiting for his wife to return. Fugah and another male yanked open a car door and then got behind the wheel of the car. She demanded cash from the male and pointed a gun at him and his children.

She then shot at the male victim, with the bullet partially shattering the driver’s side window and hitting the man’s baseball cap, narrowly missing his head. A piece of the bullet struck the window of an occupied SEPTA bus across the street, passing over the heads of several passengers. Fugah then fled in the Honda Pilot, which was soon located a short distance away with the infant inside and unharmed.
Fugah is getting sentenced on November 4 and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and a maximum possible sentence of life in prison. The male Fugah was with ran from the scene as soon as the car doors were opened. Authorities did not give any further details about him.
