Community Safety Expo Event Held In Lower Southampton
by Alex Lloyd Gross
There was plenty of free information given out to people about scams, scammers and how Artificial Intelligence is used to hurt children and take money from adults. This event was held at the ball fields behind the Lower Southampton Township Building.
It is similar to a National Night Out, but it is sponsored by State Rep Joe Hogan, who showed up to the event. and mingled with attendees. “It’s frightening to realize how elaborate these scams are and to what lengths people will go to exploit children”, Hogan said.

Children, of course are not interested in hearing about that stuff. So, for them, there was free water ice and light snacks. They could get their face painted or explore a fire truck. About 6:30 PM, a helicopter owned by the state police landed on the field and that commanded the attention of everyone. The Sheriff’s Office was there to do free kids id’s and Jen Shorn, the Bucks County District Attorney made an appearance. Needless to say, there was lots to do.

According to Hogan, he wants to do three of these events during the summer and the next will be held in the upper end of the township, at Playwicki State Park. That will be done in August.
