
Arrest Made In Sunday Shooting In Germantown

Police have charged Shomari Betancourt with multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses, after police said he allegedly shot three people, Police gave this account of the incident: Police responded to the intersection of Roberts Avenue and Stokley Street at 5:26 AM this past Sunday. After receiving reports of a shooting, officers found a 26-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her head. She was transported by police to Temple University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Medics transported a second victim, a 23-year-old male, to Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He was listed in stable condition.
A third victim, a 33-year-old male, arrived at Roxborough Memorial Hospital as a “walk-in” with a gunshot wound to his face around 6:19 a.m. He was then transported to Einstein Medical Center for further treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Later that morning, Betancourt went to Nazareth Hospital for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left arm. Police wee called and found out he had an active warrant for domestic assault. He was arrested and after the investigation was concluded, police said that they had enough evidence to charge his with the Germantown shooting as well.
