Woman Arrested For Firing Pistol On North Broad Street

On August 10, 2025 Philadelphia police responded to a call about a female shooting a gun on the 7100 block of North Broad Street. Police said the woman was observed firing in the direction of an unknown person. When police arrived, she went to her house and refused to answer the door.
Police declared a barricade situation and SWAT was called. Within two hours of the initial call the woman surrendered and was arrested and charged with the following offenses: Discharge of Firearm, PIC, Terroristic Threats, VUFA-On Streets, Simple Assault, REAP, and related charges.
She was identified as Diana Norat and she is 38 years old. No gun was found but police did recover four spend .380 spent casings. No gun was found, police said.
