Summer Camp Employee Beats Up Juvenile Lifeguard In Warrington

Thomas Shubert, 53, worked at Camp America which is in Warrington Twp. Pa. In the middle of July, he was walking by the pool area where a 16 year old male lifeguard was on duty. The lifeguard greeted him politely and Shubert ignored the greeting. The juvenile repeated his greeting at which time , police said Shubert snapped.

He allegedly charged at the boy, grabbed him by his neck and screamed at him, yelling. “You could have killed my son by driving like that. If you would have killed him, I would have killed you, your mother, and your father.” The juvenile broke free and Shubert was subsequently escorted from the camp and fired. The 16 year old sustained minor injuries.

That night Shubert allegedly sent a text message to the boys father expressing remorse but also challenging the boys father to a physical confrontation to sort things out, police said.

Shubert was advised of a warrant for his arrest and turned himself in at the Warrington Twp. Police station. He is charged with TERRORISTIC THREATS (M1) (18) 2718 (A)(1) STRANGULATION (M2) (18) 2701 (A)(1) SIMPLE ASSAULT (M2) (18) 2705 RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING ANOTHER PERSON (M2) (18) 5503 (A)(1) DISORDERLY CONDUCT (M3) (18) 2709(A)(1) HARASSMENT (S)

He was given a citation and released from custody, police said.
