WARMINSTER, PA — The Bucks County community is coming together this fall to honor the life and legacy of retired Bucks County Detective Michael C. Walp, who passed away in October 2024 after a battle with ALS.
A special event, the “Hike for Mike,” will be held at 10am on October 12, 2025, at Warminster Community Park, bringing together friends, family, colleagues, and residents to celebrate Walp’s life and raise critical funds for the ALS Hope Foundation.

Organizers say this isn’t just a walk—it’s an opportunity to pay tribute to a man remembered as both a dedicated public servant and a beloved member of the community.
“Every step taken and every donation made will help provide care, education, and research for those affected by ALS,” organizers said in the announcement.
The family-friendly hike is open to all, and participants are encouraged to either join the walk in person or support the cause through donations. Proceeds will go directly to the ALS Hope Foundation, which continues its mission to improve the lives of individuals and families facing ALS.

Registration is now open, and community members are encouraged to sign up early to show their support.
