NJ Resident Surrenders For Defacing Jewish Museum

Philadelphia Police confirmed that they made an arrest in the vandalism of the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History. The male is from Woodbury New Jersey and his name is Leroy Hayes.
It was back on August 18, 2025, during the early morning hours, when Hayes is alleged to have spray painted the walls to the building. He did this again on August 25, 2025, this time painting over walls he missed the first time, police said. According to authorities, he used red paint..
Hayes turned himself in yesterday and he faces charges of ethnic intimidation and related charges. Police did not release a motive.
