Thief Pulls Gun On PA Constable During Retail Theft Arrest At Northeast Philly Wal-Mart

by Alex Lloyd Gross

It was just before 7:00 PM on Halloween of this year when a thief pulls up and parks in a parking spot close to the Wal-Mart front doors on the 9700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard. The thief grabs a cart and walks into the store. The Loss Prevention people watch him steal inside the store and stop him, with the help of an on duty PA State Constable at the doors to leave.

Once inside the loss prevention office, police said the male becomes uncooperative. He pulls out a gun and said “let me go or I’ll shoot you”, according to a statement given to Philadelphia Police. The constable, who was guarding the door in the office moves away and the thief runs out, scurrying to a black station wagon, escaping in an unknown direction. Police did not say if he fled with stolen merchandise or not.
