Police Car Rammed By Suspects In Newtown Bank Fraud Incident

A very large police presence was around the Newtown Bypass earlier today about 12:30 PM.Police got a report about possible fraud activity at the Truist Bank and as they arrived, they found a Nissan Rouge which was involved had left the scene. That vehicle was spotted at the WAWA on Silver Lake Road . As officers approached, the driver rammed the patrol car, police said.
The patrol car sustained damage but was unmoved by the attempt to escape. Three suspects ran from the car and eventually were all captured in and around a wooded area across the street., police said.

Officers from across Bucks County responded to assist in the search, including Warrington Township, Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Makefield Township, Solebury Township, Middletown Township, Bucks County Park Police, Yardley Borough, Lower Southampton Township, and Newtown Borough Police Departments. These departments also assisted with K9 searches and drone operations.
This had social media buzzing with speculation as to what happened. Police confirmed no one was hurt in the incident. police said they will be lodging eight felony counts against those arrested. The names and specific charges were not available at press time.
