PENNDEL BOROUGH, PA — A Pennel Borough police officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing eight residents from a burning home early Thursday morning.

According to police, the incident unfolded around 4:40 a.m. on December 11, when Officer Sean Peck came upon an active residential fire while on patrol. Seeing flames and heavy smoke pouring from the home, Peck immediately rushed inside, aware that several occupants were likely trapped.

Police said Officer Peck entered the residence multiple times under dangerous conditions, guiding eight people out of the home before fire crews arrived. All occupants were safely evacuated.

Pennel Police Chief Perry praised Peck’s actions, calling them a powerful example of courage and commitment.

“Officer Peck’s swift and decisive response prevented what could have been an unimaginable tragedy,” Chief Perry said. “His bravery reflects the dedication our officers bring to this community every day.”

While no injuries were reported, the chief expressed sympathy for the families who lost their home in the blaze. The department is coordinating with local fire officials and emergency management personnel to ensure the displaced residents receive support in the days ahead.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire authorities.
