At approximately 3:55 p.m., she allegedly left her four-month-old infant inside a locked car while she spent about 20 minutes shopping. When she returned, a concerned passerby noticed the baby in the vehicle.

The child was seated in an unauthorized restraint positioned in the front seat and facing forward, police said. . Police were called, and the passerby told DeCarla to wait with her for their arrival. DeCarla did not wait and instead left the parking lot. Her license plate number was provided to police.

On January 16, 2026, DeCarla was located at a residence in Warrington. She was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and leaving a child unattended. While she was being processed, police discovered an active warrant for her arrest for tampering with public records, perjury, and related offenses.

DeCarla was arraigned by District Justice Stacey Wertman, who set bail at $100,000 with 10 percent required for each case. Unable to post bail, she was taken to Bucks County Prison. Upon her release, should she post bond, she was ordered to have no contact with her infant child and to cooperate with Bucks County Children and Youth Services.
