Bensalem Senior Citizen Busted Selling Drugs and Guns

Charles Bowers, 68, of Craig Avenue in Bensalem was arrested yesterday after police got a tip he was selling methamphetamine. and guns out of his house. Bowers, police said was a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a gun, much less be selling one.

Police set him up with an undercover sting and a detective went to his residence and purchased two shotguns, a rifle along with some meth. After the sale, police set up surveillance on the road and watched him drive away later in the day. Bowers was stopped on Bristol Road,police said
By that time, police had a warrant for him and arrested him without incident. His charges include Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and related charges.

In addition to his past felony, he was recently arrested for drug charges, according to court records. His bail was set at $750,000/10 percent and Bowers was taken to the Bucks County Prison. When he was arrested, police found he had meth on him, according to police reports.
