Children Baked Pretzels With the Police In Middletown

by Alex Lloyd Gross

A few lucky children got to spend the morning at the Philly Pretzel Factory in Middletown (Bucks County)Pa, as the local police department held an event to foster community relations with school aged children. The purpose was to show children how pretzels were made.

It was a partnership between the police and the pretzel company. There were two groups of children and they were shown how pretzels were made. Then they got a chance to make their own. Some were animals, others letters of the alphabet or other shapes.

Even the cops got in on the fun, with Community Relations Officer Missy Robison trying to do a Vikings logo for her chief. There was a $10.00 donation of which that money will go to the “Shop With a Cop” program. Space was limited .

The children were instructed on what to do by Brian Kean, who can bake almost anything into a pretzel. Each time slot lasted about 30minutes and the kids got to take their pretzels home.
