Southampton Biker Killed In Philly Hit and Run

Philadelphia Police said that 39 year old Jason Harvey, from Southampton P_a, was killed as he rode his motorcycle north on the 4000 block of Frankford Avenue, near Torresdale Avenue, yesterday about 4:13PM. A Ford F 250 modified as a tow truck was towing a 2005 Dodge Magnum. It was traveling south on Frankford Ave., police said/
The car became dislodged from the truck and fell into the northbound lanes,where it struck the motorcycle. The driver of the tow truck then sped away from the scene. Philadelphia Fire Department medics transported Mr. Harvey to Temple University Hospital in extremely critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:49 p.m.
The tow truck was later located unoccupied in the parking lot of an apartment building on the 1000 block of East Lycoming Avenue. It is unknown who the driver of the tow truck was or why the car was being towed.
Police will interview the owner of the car and find out where it was towed from. They can then check security cameras and see the driver, who towed the car. The car owner can also identify the driver if they saw him at the time the car was picked up. Police did not say if the car was stolen.
