Illegal Immigrant Busted By Bensalem Cops For Trying To Have Sex With 13 Year Old

Jairo Zepeda-Herrera, 34, Cranbury, NJ, was chatting with what he thought was a 13 year old female online via the internet. This was back on November 20, 2025. He was excited in his chats and asked if the girl was still a virgin, as he wanted to be the first. The girl was actually an undercover cop. Arrangements were made for the encounter and Herrera traveled to Bensalem for his date. Police said the date would be on December 30, when the girl was on winter break from middle school.
Hererra got spooked when he arrived and fled, before police could make contact with him. He remained free even though an active arrest warrant was issued for him, charging him with Attempted Statutory Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact with Minors, Attempted Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors, and related offenses, police said.
Police said Herrera was never served the warrant, so the US Marshal’s office got involved. On March 3, 2026, they found his relatives, who convinced him to turn himself in. He did the next day. Jairo Zepeda-Herrera was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $3,000,000 bail. Bensalem Police have verified that Zepeda-Herrera is from Ecuador and entered the United States illegally.
He will be sent back to Ecuador by ICE in the near future.
