Tractor Trailer Slams Into SEPTA Bus On Academy Rd

A tractor trailer, hauling Amazon goods plowed into the rear of a SEPTA bus that was on Academy Ro0ad, near Eden Street about 8:40 AM today. The bus driver and at least one other passenger sustained injuries from this crash and were taken to local hospitals with none life threatening injuries, police said.

The SEPTA bus was traveling from Grant Avenue towards Frankford Ave. This crash was within 10 feet of a stop for the Route 20 bus. It is unknown if the bus was slowing down for the stop to pick up or discharge passengers.
The tractor was disabled and needed to be towed. a SEPTA worker on scene said the bus could not be driven and would be towed. There was not a lot of damage to the bus. Philadelphia Truck Enforcement was investigating the crash.
