Imagination Land Playground Re Opens In Bensalem

Effective 11:00 AM today, the new and improved Imagination Land Playground is re-opened to the public. Located on Hulmeville Road near Byberry Road in Bensalem, the attraction geared towards children underwent an overhaul that cost just under $1,000,000 according to Mayor Joe DiGirolamo.

Most of the people in the crowd were small children brought by their parents. They did not want to hear politicians make long speeches. Several ran under the ribbon before the official opening. After all, there were things to play on.

The renovation was paid for with a DCNR grant. The only thing that did not cooperate was the weather. A brutal winter with cold temperatures kept the work at a standstill. “We’ve been trying to get this done for the past nine months,” the Mayor said.

Within 10 seconds of the ribbon getting cut, about 100 children who were there with families charged forward to the ride they wanted to play on. The color scheme is geared towards autistic children, without too much stimuli. The ground is made of rubber that should break the fall of someone that takes a tumble.

This is still a work in progress. Once the weather stays warm, look for a large map of the USA to be painted on the ground and additional swings to be installed.
