DA: Public Adjuster Misused Funds Meant For Home Repairs

BRISTOL, PA — A Bucks County public adjuster is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he diverted more than $140,000 in insurance payouts that were meant to fund home repairs for clients across the county.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced that Greg A. Micucci, 61, of Bristol, owner of Advanced Public Adjusters, was charged following a four-month investigation into alleged insurance fraud and theft.

According to authorities, the probe began Jan. 5, 2026, after a Warminster homeowner reported that contractors had not been paid for storm-related repairs despite insurance funds being issued. The investigation, led by Detective John Agnew, uncovered what prosecutors describe as a pattern of misconduct dating back to early 2024.
Court documents allege that Micucci’s firm represented homeowners filing claims with major insurers, including Allstate, Travelers, Progressive and State Farm. Investigators say Micucci used a legal authorization form directing insurance companies to send claim checks directly to his Bristol business.

While Micucci allegedly told clients that the money was being held in an escrow-style account, detectives found that funds were not properly distributed, leaving homeowners and contractors unpaid.
Authorities outlined several cases cited in the criminal complaint:
- A Warminster resident is owed more than $30,000 for tree removal work and reported losing contact with Micucci in late 2025.
- A Newtown homeowner paid roughly $25,000 out of pocket after never receiving reimbursement for flood damage repairs.
- In Yardley, the executor of an estate spent more than $35,000 of personal funds to complete repairs after insurance payments were not delivered.
- A Levittown client received a check for $13,242.36 that was later returned for insufficient funds.
During an interview with detectives in March, Micucci acknowledged mishandling claims, according to the affidavit.

He has been charged with nine counts each of insurance fraud, theft by deception, deceptive business practices and misappropriation of entrusted funds. Prosecutors said two of the victims were senior citizens, which enhances certain charges under Pennsylvania law.
Micucci was arraigned before David J. Chichilitti. Court records did not immediately indicate whether he has retained legal counsel.
The case marks the second recent prosecution involving a public adjuster in Bucks County. In March, another adjuster was arrested on allegations of misappropriating more than $80,000 from clients.
“Homeowners trust public adjusters to protect them after a disaster, not to exploit them for personal gain,” Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan said in a statement. “Diverting insurance proceeds intended for repairs especially from senior residents is a serious breach of that trust.”
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Alan J. Garabedian.
Officials are asking anyone who believes they may have been affected to contact the district attorney’s office at 215-348-6344.
Note: Criminal charges, and any reporting thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
