Senior Citizen Child Pornographer Pleads Guilty Will Spend Rest Of Life in Jail

Jerry Zweitzig, 71, of Hatboro, Pennsylvania will not be going home any time soon. He will, however, be going to federal prison for making child pornography which is  stemming from an investigation into child sexual abuse of an infant.

According to court records,  Zweitzig  was arrested in May 2019 and charged with five counts of manufacturing and attempted manufacturing of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. Those charges arose from the defendant’s sexual exploitation of a different child over a period of years, his photographing and videotaping of his sexual abuse of that child, and his extensive collection of child pornography involving thousands of other children. While awaiting sentencing, authorities found a different video that shows him having sex with an infant. He plead guilty to those charges today, May 19 2020.

On June 16, 2020, the defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on both cases by United States District Court Judge Wendy Beetlestone. He faces a maximum possible sentence of 200 years’ imprisonment, a mandatory minimum term of 15 years, between five years and a lifetime of supervised release, a $1,750,000 fine, mandatory restitution, and a $700 special assessment.
