Just like that, the view and  feel of the South Philadelphia stadium complex has changed . During the wee hours of the morning today, July 19 2016, workers put the finishing touches on the wall that will separate the masses from the folks that are permitted into the grounds of the 2016 Democratic Convention.  The fence is ugly and it is about nine feet tall.

It runs around FDR park, where thousands are expected to   gather for multiple protests and it totally ensnared the Wells Fargo complex.  It is the same fence that was used for the papal visit. This fence is not a perfect solution,  it can be climbed but just not quickly. The fence was put up at night to help alleviate traffic problems  as the workers were constantly taking up two lanes of traffic .

Starting  this weekend, vehicles over  five tons are banned from I_95 between center city and the airport. Exits 22 and 13  The exit to Broad Street will also be closed for the duration of the convention.  Streets around the convention  area like Packer Ave, Darien Street. will be closed to all but authorized vehicles. Traffic will not be allowed on South Broad Street  past Oregon Ave.
