Lower Bucks Hospital Appoints New CEO

On Friday Lower Bucks Hospital announced the hiring of an “experienced health care administrator” as its new chief executive officer.

Michael J. Motte with 23 years of acute care experience serving in the same role for St. Alexius Hospital, a 337-bed historic hospital in St. Louis, MO, where he also served as president of the Lutheran School of Nursing, affiliated with St. Alexius Hospital, hospital officials said.

“I am honored to have been selected as Lower Bucks Hospitals’ CEO,” Motte said. “It is a privilege to be joining an organization that is mission focused on finding new and better ways to deliver diverse, high-quality health care services in the community. Lower Bucks Hospital has a rich history of excellence and provides an impressive level of health care services to this region,” the new administrator said in a hospital press release.

Prime Healthcare  acquired LBH in the fall of 2012, which at the time of purchase was the second medical facility it had purchased in Pennsylvania, according to news accounts at the time.

This is the third major announcement regarding administrative management additions/changes since November 2018, according to press accounts.

In November of last year Prime/LBH announced Dr. Sonia Mehta as its Chief Executive Officer.

In March of this year a new “leadership team” was announced and last week an interim emergency services site director was appointed.

Prior to St. Alexius, Motte was the CEO at Capital Medical Center in Olympia, WA and system CFO of Mary Black Health System in Spartanburg, SC.

Motte received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California and his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu, C

According to the company website, LBH provides services to via its emergency department to about 26, 000 people yearly.
