John “Jack” Logan, a 32 year old Detective, assigned to the Major Crimes Auto Squad was under investigation by the Internal Affairs Unit since January 2020.  Since then he was on restricted duty with no police powers, authorities said. He retired on February 16 2021 and turned himself in on February 17,2021. He was released on unsecured bail.

Logan was charged with taking or distributing property that was stolen and recovered by the police. This property should be inventoried and given back to the  victim whenever possible.  It was not. He was never charged in that matter..

Police could not release any more information on Logan. Attempts to reach Larry Krasner, District Attorney were unsuccessful.  Logan is facing state charges only at this point..
