It’s a smart idea to take winnings from a casino in the form of a check. For the second time in about a month, a person was followed home from Parx Casino in Bensalem, where they were robbed. The first case ended in a murder with the perpetrators caught .. Today, something similar happened and the jackpot winner is lucky to be alive.
A 46 year old Asian Male won $9000 from the casino. He got to his house about 1:00 AM and noticed a U-Haul van had parked on his block on Adams Avenue, in the city. Thinking nothing about it, the man walked happily to his house. As he got closer, three black males wearing gloves and masks grabbed him and forced him to get in the back of the U-Haul. One of the males stayed inside the truck.
He was taken to an unknown location and put in a basement. They tied him up and demanded to know where he kept money at his home. The three robbers pointed guns at him and one of them punched him in the face at least one time. He was kept in the basement while other offenders searched his home and stole items from him,, including a 9mm firearm, credit and debit cards and a pair of sneakers. They also took his house keys.
They then hustled him back into the U-Haul and then let him go. They dumped him on a corner near 9th and Wellens Streets. The thieves threatened to kill the victim if he called police. Currently, cops don’t have much to go on but they are searching security cameras at the casino and in the area. It’s also a safe bet that they are checking rentals for that kind of U-Haul truck.
