Tragic Accident Claims Life Of Three Year Old Child In Mayfair

A three year old girl was pronounced dead after an accident on the 4000 block of Aldine Street, near Erdrick. The incident happened about 7:50 PM, tonight, said Police Inspector D.F. Pace. “It is an absolute tragedy,” he added..
A woman was parking her car in front of her daughters house, when the three year old saw her and ran off of porch that she was on. When she approached the vehicle, she opened the drivers door of the car, to greet her grandmother. However, the car was still in reverse and the little girl was pinned between the door and a tree. “She could not get free,” Pace said.
The grandmother saw what was happening and jumped out of the car to help her grand daughter. In that process, she sustained serious injuries, Pace said. The girl was pronounced dead at 8:35 PM. The investigation is continuing.
