Remember  reading about These guys, one of which was a police chief in a small town. Weissport Chief of Police Brent Getz was found guilty of hideous crimes including child rape,  assault of a child , and related charges.  He had a trial before jury which came back with the guilty verdict, Attorney General Josh Shapiro said.

Getz raped a little girl with his friend Greg Wagner. The two  sexually assaulted  a little girl, who was a relative of Wagners.  This happened multiple times by Wagner from when the girl was four until she turned 11.  Wagner would take down his pants and would masturbate to her, when she was a child. At one point, Wagner offered her $5.00 if she would have sex with him. She refused.  Wagner made her do other things, multiple times, until she was six. The abuse then escalated.

The case came to light when the girl told a teacher, and that teacher  notified authorities. During her interviews with police, the girl said that Getz would participate in one rape from when she was about six years old until she was 11. Wagner cooperated with police and plead guilty earlier. He said that Getz  had sexual relations with the girl one time while Wagner played video games in the room.

“This verdict holds Brent Getz accountable for his horrific crimes against a child, and brought justice to a brave survivor who had the courage to come forward,” said Attorney General Josh Shapiro. “As a police chief and public servant, Getz’s abhorrent actions betrayed the public’s trust and safety. He will never again be able to use a position in law enforcement to hurt people. My office will always stand up for our children and our most vulnerable, and hold bad actors accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Weissport is a small town in Carbon County PA.  It is unknown if Getz committed the rapes when he was a police officer of if this happened before his employment  started.
