Manuel Rivera, of Doylestown is accused of using a social media chat or app to talk up another person to meet for sex liaisons close to where he lived. That might be permissible except for the fact that according to police, the person on the other end told him several times they were a child, in fact, Rivera was told by the person whom he was chatting that he was only 13 years old. This is definitely not okay, In fact it is criminal.
Police said the two chatted and on August 21, 2022 Rivera, 42, of Doylestown made the short trip to Plumstead where he sent a sexually charged message to the minor,letting him know he was at the WAWA on Easton Road, where they agreed to meet. Instead of a 13 year old, he met police officers that took him into custody.
Rivera was charged with criminal attempt ofAggravated Indecent Assault of a minor under the age of 16 years old. Rivera was arraigned bail was set at 10% of $250,000. Rivera was remanded to the Bucks County Prison and is currently awaiting his preliminary hearing.
